Cheating, because I want to show another view of the dress.

New outfit
| at 2:34 PM
I made the big kids' outfits last summer, but Emma was lacking one. I finally made it Saturday night and they wore them on Sunday. It was a really, really cold day, with great lighting. So, we ran outside shivered while we took pictures for 2 minutes, then ran back inside. I really like this picture. Do you think its worth enlarging?

Chicken scratch?
| at 10:32 PM
Well, my chickens are getting pretty spoiled. Every time I go out to the barn they come over looking for strawberry hulls. I guess they're enjoying my pregnancy cravings. We bought a bag of chicken feed the other day that was really moldy. It was out of date by over a year, and the store didn't have any fresh food. So, we've run out of food until they get another shipment. I've been having to make their food. Tonight they had oatmeal, yogurt, and sweet potatoes. I hope they don't turn into picky eaters! Tomorrow they should have food again though.
Cravings of pregnancy...
| at 10:29 PM
Here's my only craving so far. I make cream biscuits but add about 1/4 cup sugar. Then I slice the strawberries with a little bit of sugar and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then I whip up the cream with a little bit of sugar. I add homemade vanilla and a little bit of sour cream at the last. The sour cream makes the cream hold up much better, and it gives it a really nice flavor. Yum! Raoul has actually been asking for it every night after the kids are in bed. Its a good thing its strawberry season!
Headgear
| at 6:40 AM
I realized today that I didn't have any pictures of Coleen in her headgear, so we took one. She hasn't been wearing it like she should (basically not at all), so its time to crack the whip so to speak. We really need to get our money's worth out of this thing, but its hard when the orthodontist is 9 hours away LOL.
Chickens revisited
| at 6:36 AM
They're getting a lot bigger now. At the top right you can see our rooster! I think we have one more rooster, but this little guy is crowing already. Egyptian Fayoumis start crowing at 6 weeks and laying at 4 months. Only 2 more months till we start getting farm fresh eggs. We're trying to get the chicken house finished to move them out of the good barn now. They keep escaping their pen.
Another new tractor
| at 6:33 AM
This is my dad's tractor which is going to be "stored" at our place. Pop is pretty excited to have it, but they're never home anymore. So, in the meantime Raoul gets to use it. It's much bigger than the other one Raoul bought, so he'll be able to use it for more farm uses. Just in case you're interested, its a David Brown 990, my dad's favorite. I can't remember what the little tractor is. I know its an Allis Chalmers, but I can't remember the model number.

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake
| at 6:28 AM
This was Kitty's birthday cake. If you look carefully you can see the number 5 made out of shortcakes. I've never made chocolate shortcakes before, but its what she asked for.
