a day in the life

Kitty has been reading nearly every word she sees everyhwere, or tries to at least. I imagine she'll be passing Paul up soon, just because she is trying so hard.

In case you don't remember, right when our last batch of chickens started laying, Raoul got layed off. We had to sell all the pullets, since we didn't have a place to keep them while we moved.
We ordered from McMurray Hatchery this time around. Our others we bought from Privett Hatchery. We've got Lakenvelders, Egyptian Fayoumis, Buff Orpingtons, Ameracaunas, and Barred Rocks. They've also sent an extra exotic chick, but we don't know what it is yet.

These are all from the Fisherman's Wool I dyed. The ones on the needles are Coleen's. I think I'm going to frog the other 2 pairs and make them a little bit wider. My kids do have long, skinny feet, but they'll fit a little longer if I redo them.

I really love these soaker pants on her.

This is a Sweetgrass 100 wool. It's super, super soft. I dyed it with cake dye and procion.
