Baldy, up close and personal

This is a Bald Eagle at Callaway Gardens. It came a lot closer than this, actually right over my shoulder, but this is the best pic I got with my phone. We're looking forward to going back in the spring. Posted by Picasa

Cool. I have only ever caught glimpses of them before. I really, really want to see one close, but in the wild. I think it's a wonderful thing how they were brought back from endangerment.

It is so wierd to hear you talk about places in Georgia!! My mother goes there all the time. Maybe we could meet there sometime. How far is it for you?

Are bald eagles still endangered?

That would be so cool!

J, that'd be great! We're only about 1.5 hours away.

A, I don't think they're endangered anymore.

D., This one was unable to survive in the wild due to a severely curved beak. It was pretty primal though.

M., It does take decent pics, probably because I have a 512 card in it and set the pixels as high as they'll go.
